Food packaging is a component of food products. One of the main engineering processes in the food industry. It protects food by preventing damage from biological, chemical, and physical external factors during its circulation from the factory to consumers. It also has the function of maintaining stable quality of the food itself. It is convenient for food consumption and first represents the appearance of the food, attracting consumers, and has value beyond material cost. Therefore, the food packaging process is also an integral part of the food manufacturing system engineering. But the universality of the food packaging process also gives it a relatively independent self system.

Application areas:
The process of using plastic packaging for food products mainly includes four industrial industries: the first industry refers to the production of plastic resins and films. The second industry is the processing industry of flexible and rigid packaging materials, the third industry is the packaging mechanization production industry, and the fourth industry is the food processing industry. In the first industry, low molecular weight compounds are synthesized using raw materials such as petroleum, coal, and natural gas, and then polymerized to form various resins. This is processed into single or multi-layered composite films, which are used for packaging food in food processing plants.
